Privacy Policy

Overview

YumSpinr is a restaurant picker app operated by Box Methods. We built it to be as privacy-friendly as possible — the app works without an account, and most data never leaves your device.

Information we collect

• Location — Used only to find restaurants near you. Your location is sent to our server to query the Google Places API and is never stored or logged.
• Email address (Plus subscribers only) — When you purchase a Plus subscription, we store your email address to verify and restore your subscription. It is never sold or shared with third parties.
• App preferences — Your filters, Never Again list, and saved location are stored in your browser's local storage on your device only. We cannot access them. For Plus subscribers, your subscription status (tier, plan, and expiry) is stored on our servers linked to your email address.
• Payment information — Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. See Stripe's privacy policy.

How we use your information

• To return nearby restaurant results
• To verify and restore Plus subscriptions
• To send transactional emails related to your subscription (receipts, renewal notices)

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to any third party.

Third-party services

• Google Places API — Used to fetch restaurant data. Your location is shared with Google as part of this request. See Google's privacy policy at google.com/privacy.
• Stripe — Payment processing for Plus subscriptions.

Data retention

Plus subscriber email addresses are retained for the duration of the subscription and deleted upon request. Local storage data exists only on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Your rights

You may request deletion of any personal data we hold (email address for Plus subscribers) by emailing us at support@boxmethods.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
